01    Story: What’s the best story you heard this month?

Someone told me that the modern term ‘woo woo’ actually originates from ancient China some 3,000 years ago, where the term ‘wu’ referred specifically to female shamans who performed healings, rain dances, spells & sorcery, invocations, dream interpretations, and more.

02    Nature: An encounter with the natural world

Watching the most stunning sunset I’ve seen in years over Joshua Tree on a weekend getaway with one of my best friends. Collecting rocks to bring home and kindling for the fire we built later that evening.

03    Art Experience: An encounter with art (in any form)

My first VR experience at a friend’s apartment in SoHo. I had no idea. Such a trip. Another friend of mine filmed me experiencing it, and the footage is pretty hilarious.

04    Change: a meaningful change that impacts the way you live (either that you initiated or that entered from outside)

Leading my first couple of workshops in NYC left me feeling so inspired and so hungry for more in-person connection. There’s so much screen time and online interaction in what I do, but I want to facilitate and offer more real-life experience in my work. I’m taking steps to make dreams around this happen on a more consistent and everyday basis.

05    New Idea: a new way of looking at things or something to attempt in the future

Observing my body’s reaction to stress, anger, sadness, and feelings of overwhelm instead of focusing on how my mind reacts. I’m very interested in using the physical body as a tool to move through emotional blockages.

06    Object (new): a new object that held significance

A white heart-shaped rock from Joshua Tree that I gave to my husband for Valentine’s Day.

07    Object (old): an old object that took on new/different kind of meaning

A piece of malachite. Malachite came to me strongly in a guided meditation by Lauren Spencer King that explores how to access your Authentic Heart. I’ve been carrying it around with me and sleeping with it by my bedside ever since.

08    Discard: Something you decided to rid yourself of this month.

My hectic travel schedule. I’m happy to have the next four weeks at home. I’m excited to use these next several weeks to recenter and refocus.

09    Gratitude: something you have been specifically thankful for this month:

Being acknowledged by my dad after a long period of conflict. I received a text message from him shortly after I left New York addressing our past issues and telling me that he loves me and is very proud of me.

10    Proportion: A specific moment that reminded you of the scale of the universe. That you are part of a greater whole.

My daily meditation practice always connects me to source energy. Such a simple practice with such a profound impact.
